The EDUCATION CRISIS in America...

How many people are going to go see, Waiting For Superman? Oprah did two shows this past two days about the movie and it is a heart wrenching documentary by Oscar winning director Davis Guggenheim which is a personal journey of exploration of the current state of the United States educational system and how it is impacting our children. He travels all across America, highlighting the true stories of children in our nation's school system. One of the most heart-wrenching scenes in the movie are a group of parents from Washington DC school system waiting to see if their children will be chosen by a state lottery-like system, in which children have to depend on a lottery number being chosen in order to have the opportunity of getting into a good school. One woman whose child was selected stated that her child being chosen was a matter of him going to college or going to prison.

It is appalling that the United States Educational system has come to this.

For over 50 years, but particularly the last 35; the American education system has become a joke. You simply can not have a superior country with inferior education. We must be accountable.

The minds of our children are too valuable to be wasted.

Any teacher that miseducates a child is committing a crime in my opinion.

As relates to Black children...It is well documented how white teachers show bias toward Black students. I'll give you an example: About 15 years ago, one of my first cousin's daughters told me about a white teacher that refused to call on Black children in class when they were having oral exercises. I asked her if this happened all the time and she said, yes. At this time, I told her number one, to continue her drive to excel(she was a straight A student), I then told her not to be discouraged by this; get her mother involved and both of you go to the school principal's office and discuss this matter so that the teacher can be confronted; and third, I was just real with her and stated that in the south and other parts of America, white people have always been racist toward Black people, and many are hateful enough that they don't want to see Black people succeed at anything, even their children.

Malcolm X had a similar story...in reference to what happened to my little cousin. In his autobiography, he illustrated when he made the unfortunate mistake of telling his dreams to a white teacher. Malcolm had dreams of becoming a lawyer and he stated this to this teacher. This was during Jim Crow and it was very normal for white folks to talk down to Black people. This teacher told Malcolm, "that he should find a trade that was more suitable for a N*gger." Yes, calling Black folks by the N-word was a normal thing. But Malcolm stated that this broke his heart and his spirit. Here he was in an all white school...where he had been so smart, he had been nominated to be class president, and then he was shot down. This was the catalyst that led Malcolm to the streets.

Be careful who you share your dreams with...

However, I'm happy to tell you that this young lady is getting ready to graduate from college "with honors" next year.

She's a success story, but what about all of the Black children who aren't getting the proper motivation to continue on to a 4-year college institution? They fall through the cracks. And what would shock people is that a study concluded over a decade ago that contrary to popular belief; most children that drop out of school are actually very intelligent.

This is the greatest tragedy of the American educational system.

Someone once said: the richest place on earth is a graveyard. Why? Because it's filled with people who never reached their potential.

We must make it our collective business to encourage people, particularly young children, because we never know who they could become.

Notes on Racism: Getting It Right!

 What is racism? Many people use this term incorrectly every single day when describing behavior that yes, may be bias; but the term racism is not the correct word to use, say...from a white person who inquires a Black person whether or not they'd date/marry a white person...and if said BP says no, the white person says that they are racist. That is not racism, it's a personal choice and preference.

The issue that I have with white people using racism these days toward Blacks in power is not only ludicrous; these people exhibit a level of arrogance and ignorance of their own behavior in this country that is just appalling. Why don't white people understand their behavior? Many Blacks assess this resistance as a deep pathological denial for fear of the consequences of acknowledging their innate hatred toward Blacks and other minorities, but particularly as relates to Black people.

To choose to not understand the impact white racism has had on Black people in a system designed to benefit their group is a moral failure. Logically, to choose to remain ignorant about something where there is concrete evidence regarding it's devastating impact indicates that by choosing to not know, they don't have to take action.

Currently, we see the Tea Party as a racist movement. Why? Because although semantically, the sound-bites coming from whites, are always are in rants about them "Taking Back America! Preserving Democracy! And Protecting Their Way of Life!" But what Black people hear and see subliminally, are nothing more than a bunch pissed-off white people, who can't get over the mere fact that a black man kicked their racist leader(s) John McCain and Sara Palin's royal ass.

First of all, in the history of the United States, minorities have had to be REACTIONARY to white racism as a matter of not only survival, but basic principle.

Racism for most whites is intellectualized visually as men dressed up in white robes, but racism has nothing to do with this per se. It was a system sanctioned by the state and backed by law.

So, today, I'd like to summarize the correct definition of the term, racism, to add clarity in discussions.

One of the fundamental elements of racist though is that it is a collectivist, not individualist, ideology since it promotes the idea that the collective qualities and attributions of racial, ethnic, and linguistic groups matter more than the character and behaviors of individuals in cultural symbols and public policy. Racism defines and proscribes human identity and behavior in collective constructs purportedly rooted in biological, cultural, and/or linguistic phenomena. Through its advocates, racist thought attempt of affect or determine public policy through the seizure of political power to impose a regime of social relations that actualizes the collectivist constructs that categorizes persons into racial and ethnic groups. The self-fulfilling component of racist thought is not left to chance; instead, racist political activists seek to ensure that their definition of the situation is made real through the levers of the state, the culture and the hierarchical organizations within society.

So...basically, "White Supremacy is an historically based, institutionally perpetuated system of exploitation and oppression of continents, nations, and peoples of color by white peoples and nations of the European continent, for the purpose of maintaining and defending a system of wealth, power, and privilege."

A healthy debate is always encouraged but in my honest opinion, the only people who can truly understand racism are those who have been its victims.



 

The Ten DEADLIEST ENEMIES of The Black Community...

*Ever wonder why things are the way they are? What you see in some areas within the Black Community today are the effects of CHOICES made decades prior. Here is a list of the 10 worst enemies of the Black community:

1.) Irresponsible Baby Breeders( Why are so many woman having children they can't afford? )
2.) Absentee fathers(It takes a man to MAKE A MAN !)
3.) Criminals that degrade their communities with their behavior and lack of moral values
4.) Dysfunctional families
5.) Parents that won't discipline their children
6.) Materialism
7.) Class bigotry
8.) Lack of solidarity in communities
9.) Churches that don't care
10.) Uncaring neighbors

Notice that I didn't include the KKK or White America as being the main culprits of the many of the problems that are existent in some areas of the Black community today.

The above issues are the main ingredients that created the problems facing many communities in Black America.

Sometimes, we are the enemy and if we don't care about who we are as a people; then we should not expect others to care either.

It all starts and ends with US .

Facebook Finally Got Me!!!

For quite some time, I've been reluctant to become a member of many of the popular social networking sites.  My stance was why in the world would people have the need to share so much about their life.  But 3 days ago, after much thought, I gave in.  I became a member of Facebook--as you can see from the badge on my home page.  After going through the registration process...to my shock, I was instantly linked to friends from my old high school in North Chicago, Illinois, some of  whom I hadn't seen...well...since high school.  Immediately I requested friendship with about 25 people and about that many responded.  Everyone really looked good, gathering from the pictures and I've been in conversation with about 6 consistently for the last 3 days.

It made me happy to see my old friends and classmates.  They all are doing well and most have families of their own now.  Age has escaped many of them.  No Botox, face lifts or breast implants in the bunch.  A few of the guys have gotten a little chunky though, but many of the ladies must have bribed Mother Nature.

Lately, I've been a little homesick and I have been thinking about moving back home to Chicago. Chicago is just one of those cities that you can never leave even though you may reside somewhere else.  It's a great city.

Anyhoot...until I decide to move...I'll just keep in touch with all my old friends who still live there as solice.

Thus, I'm now officially a "friend" on Facebook and I admit that I'm diggin' it.

Greetings,

Today, I felt the urging to speak to this issue, primarily because it has caused such a psychological disturbance on the entire Black community for decades. There is just one thing I can say in seeing so many Black males getting in relationships with or marrying either white or other non Black mates: YOU EMBARRASS the Black community.

That's really the issue.

Jill Scott described it in her Essence article as that "wince" you get whenever you see a picture of a Black man in particular in an IR union.

The indifferent amongst us will say, "Hey, love is blind, you should be with who you want, but collectively, as a people; it's a ludicrous statement when you have over 70% of Black children being raised in single parent homes. The perception is that Black people don't want to be with each other--even though...statistical ly, the majority Blacks marry each other.

For a few weeks now, I've been trying to come up with the words to describe what I and other Black people feel who just aren't attracted to people from other people from other race or color groups. We dig being Black! We love being around Black people! We love Black food, culture, attitude, style, thought, speech--everything! We're not running away from who we are. And those that feel the pull to get in relationships with people who are not Black, draw suspicion from us. What's your problem? We just don't get it.

The Black family is sacred. I grew up in a community with Black men married to Black women who had nice looking chidren, who dressed well, they spoke well, and carried themselves well. When we went to church, you saw these families and everyone was proud and had dignity. We like these type of families and it's how we all see ourselves. Whenever most of us see a Black man or Black woman with a white or non Black man or woman, first, we look--we could be thinking a myriad of thoughts, but if we are honest, the control thought is while rolling our eyes is "Oh, Lord, another one ..." and we shake our heads...and say nothing. But the thought lingers. We just don't say anything.

But truthfully, it leads us to wonder if there is something mentally wrong within many Black people that get involved in these relationships. IR relationships are adverstised as " racial progress ." How in the hell can you call this racial progress with so many young Black women who are not in married relationships or who are single mothers? Black men continue to outnumer Black women in IR relationships. But what is making them choose these women over Black women? The media has always promoted White beauty and dismissed Black beauty. But white women in particular, are literally killing themselves to have features that Black women are born with. So, are Black men buying into White Power by proxy. Some of us think so.

The Black man is singled out primarily because of the historical hatred directed at him by white males. Can I just be real: There has been a conspiracy against Black men--and particularly at the Black father by removing him from the home. Black women continue to cry out because we have images going through
our minds of racial hatred in this country and some just can't
understand how Black men can sleep with women who are the descendants of people who thought it was entertaining and right to lynch Black men in their honor? Why do you desire your oppressor's woman? And to put salt in an old wound: the stupidity of esteeming white women as they denigrate Black women and dishonor them through sociopathic misogyny, is absolutely incendiary. Black women cry out because it's wrong! It is EVIL and a product of hell. And they will not tolerate being disrespected. It is Black women who have kept Black families together, who work to keep our communities in tact. They are the only true allies of Black men. HELL YEAH!  We're protective of Black men because it's a Black woman(his mother, sister, grandmother) that suffers if that man is harmed or killed. It's the Black community that is weakened.

Some Black women may not understand why some of their sisters object to a Black man with a white woman, but those of us who are older and wise, we know what is the truth.

Frankly, why don't some Black men just put swastikas on their arms and shout WHITE POWER ! when out with their white dates/wives and mixed children that don't look like them?

Do you hate the fact that you came from a Black womb so much that being with a Black woman is the one thing that you must avoid in order to live your lie?

Basically, the prevailing thought going through the minds of many of us is that some of you have lost your minds. You look foolish and given the recent Black males who have had bad press involving their relationships with white or non Black women, Tiger Woods, Tiki Barber, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Reggie White, O.J. Simpson, as well as the recent deaths of Steve McNair and Gary Coleman; we shake our heads and ask: WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH SOME OF YOU ?!?! These are celebrities, but every time you turn on the television or look in a magazine, you see some prominent Black male cheesing it up for the camera as he holds his white or non Black woman close. Almost like saying to the world, " Look, World! I've finally made it Big! " Even Black men are beginning to question loudly their Black brothers who keep getting in these type of relationships.

The concern is frankly, white people are now afraid because of the economy and per usual, they are looking to blame someone for their suffering. They aren't so nice now. And given the treatment that Mexicans are receiving in Arizona, the constant criticism of Obama and casual racism that has been creeping up, some of you better get a reality check. **** is soon going to hit the fan.

Black men in IR's-- WAKE UP !!! You are an embarrassment to your people and we are not going to continue to protect you from whites who one day are going to remind you what they really think of you. We will not come to your aid when it's not so hip to have a white chick. And we will not pray for you when these white women wake up from their sleepwalking--and looks at this Black body next to her and holler RAPE !


It's the perception that Black men need to think about. How do you look to your own people? Do you ask yourselves that? Yet, you seek comfort in the arms of white women, whose mothers and grandmothers laughed at the swinging Black bodies of lynched Black men, who laughed when white men beat Black men up with billy clubs and bats, who laughed when dogs were sicked on Black men, women and children--and you talk about their soft skin or how they support you or don't give you drama?

YOU ARE FOOLS!

I don't know what happened in a generation to Black people, but it is high time for the Black community to purge itself of this bacteria and restore dignity to our people.

Thank You, Lord!

Everybody...I just want to extend a great big THANK YOU to those here who encouraged me to write a book. I've been contributing to various online sites for over ten years and for years, people asked me if I was a writer...or encouraged me to write.

Back in 2003, life brought about some changes and it was at this time that I decided to take a giant leap of faith and write a book. As early as 1999, I had been saving some of the topics I started and I realized that put together, I really could write an inspirational book. One of those topics, originally entitled, A Love Letter to My Black Man dingos was selected as the catalyst for the book. I changed the titled, first, to A Love Letter to Black Men, then that changed with the advice of a member on another site, to A Journey Into The Mind of A Black Woman: In Search of Black Men With Purpose. The book is truly a journey of discussions and conversations written in verisimilitude, regarding topics impacting the Black community. I chose Black men as the protagonist because they are so absolutely necessary. It is my cri de coeur(cry of the heart) for ALL Black People to embrace our past and detach ourselves from white America because it has made us all sick.

Some things and people are like toxic waste and if you get too close you will become contaminated.

Self-hatred is rampant in the hearts and minds of Black people and some don't realize just how sick they are. We still live in a system created by slavery and we are still defined by that system. Black male children are targeted for destruction and it is urgent for us to recover our memory, restore our culture and achievements in history, and stop defining ourselves through the distorted lenses of white supremacy. It has damaged our psyche—we’re co-conspirators—we comply with its terms: forget about our culture and heritage, forget about being Black, don’t attack or confront the white mainstream, and then white people would accept us.

Why then are Black people around the world bleaching their skin, straightening their hair, getting plastic surgery to alter their Negro features and assuming the mannerisms and behaviors of white folks in order to be accepted?
How can you define yourself if you don't see yourself in a positive light?

We need to purge ourselves Black people and that is why I wrote this book.

I'd like to share it with you all.

Black Men Don't Marry White Women For Love...

In order to understand something, it sometimes is necessary to understand the root of the condition.

How can you see yourself in the eyes of your enemy? Interracial unions are nothing new, but as relates to the history of America, the attraction is not based on love, but one of curiosity brought on through the proximity of slavery. In those times, the white man lusted for the Black woman, and because of his power over her body, being a slave, he could have sex with her at his will. However, the white woman was off limits to the Black male slave. It was dangerous for any Black man to even think of touching a white woman. The contrasts of how Black women and white women were viewed is very telling. The Black woman wore rags. but the white woman wore beautiful gowns. She was made up and her hair was coiffured. The Black male slave could see how well kept the white woman was; secretly, some Black males slaves may have desired her. Thus, the Great Myth of the White Woman being the most desired woman was born.

The images and editorials of the times esteemed white women. Black women were debased, so from the start; the true difference in how Black woman and white women were viewed, basically related to marketing.

Add to this the reiteration of imagery through time, the myth is perpetuated in the psyches of those who are the oppressed group. They too begin to believe the white man's lie.

Black men were lynched for even just looking at a white woman. No punishment came to men who violated the Black woman. One woman was valued the other was easily disgarded.

But, as Black people began to advance and take more control of their image, Black Beauty was recognized and embraced.

Ebony Magazine, Jet, Essence, to name a few, showed the beauty, talent and achievements of Black men and woman and many thought this would right the wrongs of the past, but true to the light; we are still a bruised people psychologically, and some of us began to embrace the attitudes of our enemy.

Why did Black men begin to desire white women in the last 30 years?

Today, interracial couples are increasing every single year. Some say this is progress but Black woman aren't echoing this sentiment. They see white women as "trouble" and because of her, many Black men have been brought to ruin. Just look at current headlines of late.

Many powerful Black men, particularly entertainers and athletes seem to be targeted by white women. Why? Some Black women have said that these women have been raised well by racist fathers who educated them well on how to seduce the minds of the weak. They know that when it comes to wealthy Black men, and those who have advanced; they have an advantage as relates to the well known fettish of Black men of desiring less Negro looking women or a blond over an average Black woman. Basically, they know that a fool and his money will always part. The seduction begins from the moment a Black man knows that his money allows him options. And their behavior exposes the deeper truth of just how well many have bought into White Supremacy.

And the greatest lie: That Black men really do fall in love with white women. I've never met one in my life who even would state this. What I have encountered are Black men, when asked why they chose a white woman; they preface their statement with a cause--not true love as to their union. A Black woman hurt them. Black women are too bossy. Black women aren't supportive , et al.- - we are the center of their choice. It's as if they are saying subconsciously that " the only reason I'm with a white woman is because the Black woman I wanted wouldn't act right ."

Given the high divorce rate of interracial couples, I think it's a fair assumption that many Black men get involved with white women for various reasons, but true love is not one of them much of the time.

As Louis Farrakhan asked: Is it love or is it lust that drew these couples together?

The Fear of Offending White Folks...

About 2 weeks ago, while watching a program about a school in New Jersey that was used to teach Blacks back in the 1940's; one of the old students made a comment that stuck in my mind: he said that the school was representative of what was best in the Black community and those that left and went on into higher echelons of life were well skilled in knowing the importance of achievement but being ever so mindful as not to agitate the racial hierarchy.

Hmmm....interesting comment. And one that opened a thought regarding why so called Black leadership is weak and out of touch with the Black community today. The truth of the matter, we don't have anyone in the Black community that is a leader on the level of galvanizing the entire community behind their vision of us as a people.

And this has been evident for a very long time.

The NAACP was founded by White Jews and select Blacks in 1909. I took the liberty to find this piece of information as to the catalyst of its formation. One of the first leaders of the organization was Moorefield Storey, a white constitutional lawyer and former president of the American Bar Association. The only Black that was allowed on the executive committee was notably Dr. W.E.B DuBois, who was made director of publications and research and in 1910, he established the official journal of the NAACP, The Crisis.

There were many white leaders of the NAACP, but one of the most powerful was the Jewish born Joel Spingarn. The favorable publicity generated by the Pink Franklin case, in which the NAACP defended a black sharecropper accused of murder, attracted new supporters to the NAACP. Among them was the independently wealthy Joel Spingarn (1875-1939), chairman of Comparative Literature at Columbia University. Spingarn, the eldest son of an Austrian Jewish tobacco merchant, had a profound sense of social responsibility and abhorred racial violence. Intent on reform, he made an unsuccessful bid for Congress on the Republican ticket in 1908 and served as a delegate at the national conventions of the Progressive Party in 1912 and 1916. Spingarn resigned his professorship in 1911 to devote his energy and talents to the NAACP. He was successively elected as Executive Committee member, chairman of the board, treasurer, and finally president between 1930 and 1939. Joel Spingarn was the originator of the Spingarn Medal, awarded annually by the NAACP since 1915 for the highest achievement by an African American.

How interesting that a civil rights organization that was founded to fight racial injustice, in its early beginning, whites were only allowed to run it. The attitude of some of the whites within the organization was one of condescending insult. Of course they had no problem appearing to represent an ideal of "equality" amongst the races; however, it was absolutely out of the question to be told what to do by Blacks.

So now...some of you have a clue as to why many Blacks have suspected the NAACP and rightfully so.

They have missed opportunities for several decades of influencing a younger generation and are perceived to be an organization that primarily is dominated by those in the Black Elite and one in which is only concerned with issues that impact this group.

Of course, the NAACP has done some good, but the fact that whites were founders, members and large financial contributors, gives weight to the warning Malcolm X gave of the Black Elite working against the Black community in alliance with the white power structure. Tony Brown wrote about this in his book Black Lies, White Lies.

This is why you won't see any criticism or harsh commentary from prominent Blacks.

When you allow your enemy to infiltrate your camp and gradually or surreptitiously take up positions is either for espionage or hostile takeover.

In a nutshell; if white folks are donating and controlling the money, they can dictate policy.

This is why many Black leaders will not take on a position of nationalism and or proBlack causes--it undermines the whites who have successfully used money to control certain Black groups for empowering, strengthening and building the Black community.

We've been sold out.

Republicans have corned the Obama Administration into a corner and disabled him from helping the Black community for fear of looking like a reverse racist. Could someone please explain to me what in the hell is a reverse racist? The term in and of itself is a mockery of the understanding of racism and history in America. Black people have never been racist toward white folks, but we sure as hell have had to endure racism from them.  Racism is a system.  And the audacity white folks have of accusing our president, his Attorney General, Eric Holder or any Black person who dares tell them to their faces what they think of them; is an attempt to control the discussion about the impact of White Supremacy on people of color.

It is my recommendation, that every Black person get The Isis Papers by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. The book was originally written in 1991. Recently, there has been an unraveling and an analysis of the core issue of the first global power system of mass oppression-- the power system of racism (white supremacy). Once the collective victims (non-white population) understands this fundamental issue, the ultimate organizing of all of the appropriate behaviors necessary to neutralize the great injustice of the white supremacy power system will only be a matter of time. The length of time required to neutralize global white supremacy will be inversely proportional to 1) the level of understanding of the phenomenon; plus 2) the evolution of self- and group-respect, the will, determination and discipline to practice the appropriate counter-racist behaviors--on the part of the non-white victims of white supremacy."

I have no respect for any leader that comes from the Black community who takes no authority to stand up for what is morally, spriritually and honorably right.

Martin Luther King said that the arms of justice is long. Well...we need to continue to make our leadership accountable in times when it appears that there are those who would like to break down the accomplishments that have allowed Black people to receive the benefits of what our nation's Contstitution guarantees.

Those who do not remember the past will be doomed to repeat it.

Barack Hussein Obama IS A COWARD!

The question was asked in the link attached to this post: Do White Voters Really Like Obama Because 'He's Not Really Black?

Honestly, I thought about that and after being in office for over a year, I've come to my own conclusion.
When I voted in the election for our nations president, I truly felt I put my vote on the best candidate. I did not vote for him because he was a man of color--I thought he represented America's future and that was my initial reason for supporting his candidacy.

Obama won. I watched people cheer for him around the world. I took it all in...

He inherited a mess from the Bush Administration and then the economic fallout hit right in the beginning of his first term. He was put on the defensive by many white conservative pundits and there was no counter from anyone in the Black community or Black press. He distanced himself from the Congressional Black Caucus and makes a concerted effort not to be seen as a Black Power president.

Issue after issue, he was dodging jabs like Muhammad Ali against Joe Frazier.

However, as just a regular American, the honest view of Obama is really very simple: he's a COWARD .

When he made his cabinet selections, Obama appointed many people that worked for Bill Clinton--most of whom were white. Was this some kickback for beating Hillary in the election--to appease the man, some misguided Black folks coined as the nations first "Black President" back in the day. I despised this term then and now. Clinton showed his true colors when it became apparent that Barack was going to win didn't he.

What an irony.

What I see in Obama is an intellectual trying to lead--not a leader who makes bold decisions and uses his intelligence with the precision and sharpness of a Japanese Katakana sword.

He tries to please the " right people " too much. Or should I just come out and say what I really mean: He tries to please WHITE PEOPLE too much. He positions himself with the right (white)people so that he can attract the right (white) approval, but he's dismissive and seemingly incapable of taking a bold stand on any issue which might cause him to be accused of being a BLACK man standing up for Black people in the eyes of white folks. That's too costly and cuts through his race friendly image, and being biracial gives him the latitude to walk the fence. He does not want to offend his white supporters, even though many of them have abandoned him and some have had no problem joining the Tea Party.

Yet, Black folks sit in silence and watch all of this shit for fear of outing him and thus, giving the conservatives what they really want--infighting amongst us. Some don't want to be labeled as race baiters but in my honest opinion, the one thing that you're trying to avoid could perhaps be the very thing that liberates you.

However, we know what Obama's problem is, right? He's nothing more than a racial buffer.  A poser.  But his actions reflect those of someone who truly represents those in power and who are the enemy of Black people. Yes! White Supremacy rules the White House.

This country is still racist. And we all know this.

I found this comment in an article from Don Terry, who is a columnist for the Chicago Tribune: "Obama, the sandy-colored, half-white, half-black, Hawaii-born, Harvard-trained, civil rights lawyer with the magnetic smile, "is the literal embodiment of our cultural hybridity," says Salim Muwakkil, a senior editor at In These Times magazine. "He's mastered the cultural jargon of the Ivy League. That makes him less threatening, more soothing to white sensibilities. One of Barack's great strengths is his complexity."

Basically, what he is saying is that for whites, Barack doesn't fit the image "they have" of African Americans and he's "almost" one of them.

How does one rationalize this?

Remember when Senator Harry Reid basically exposed this sentiment when he said that Obama appealed to whites mainly because he was an articulate, light-skinned Black man who didn't sound too Black. I'm paraphrasing, by you understand the point.

Right now, I'm entertaining thoughts of whether I'm going to vote for him in 2012. I'm just not happy with what I see and deep down, I feel that he's weak--whites around him know it and they are controlling him--not the other way around. It is a weekly side show of just how much they aren't afraid of attacking him and ridiculing him...yet, Barack chides that he is the President of "all Americans." Right.

Whatever...

I want a strong leader who makes not only bold decisions but provokes respect--even amongst those who do not agree with him.

Why doesn't Barack Obama seem to get this? Or then again... maybe he does.
